Update complete for times in 2008
Hamburg (in Germany) - The most direct route for trains goes through Passau.
Departures are daily from Wien West station unless noted. Whereas some trains leaving Vienna state Hamburg as their final destination, this city can be reached more quickly by changing to ICE trains BEFORE Frankfurt in the city of Wuerzburg, thus allowing for an overall shorter route and earlier arrival time. The overnight train is direct and does not require a transfer along the way.
Note: All trains mentioned here depart Wien/Vienna at the WEST station (called Wien West). Many other trains arrive and leave Vienna from Wien Sued. Please check to make sure you are at the correct station when trying to depart the city.
